The West and Amanda of It All

You know we have to talk about it.

If you’re out of the Bravosphere but you’ve heard snippets of people talking about ‘poor Ciara’ or ‘I can’t believe Amanda could do that’ or ‘West really is a fuckboy’, and you’re wondering what on earth these people are referring to, let me quickly catch you up to speed.

On Bravo’s Summer House, a very popular reality show where a bunch of young attractive people share a holiday house over the summer (hence the name) which has featured a bunch of stars over the years, including Paige Desorbo, Hannah Berner, and Alex Wach (partially a joke, but I actually loved Alex… more on that in another post).

Keep these faces in mind as you read this post. L to R: Ciara, Amanda, West, Kyle.

Ciara Miller is a fan favourite, and it’s easy to see why – she’s down to earth, she has no fucks to give, she stands ten toes down in what she believes in, she looks like an actual goddess sent from heaven, and she also has a wicked sense of humour. When Ciara turned up in season five, she made an instant connection with fans and has been one of the top stars of the show ever since.

Enter West Wilson, the loveable himbo that he is, in season eight. In his first season, he had an instant connection with Ciara and things became closer and more intimate between the two, which was quickly shattered once the season had wrapped filming because West got caught up in the media whirlwind of it all and he fucked over Ciara big time. His abysmal performance at the season eight reunion, coupled with the fact that Ciara dogwalked him the entire reunion, left a poor taste in fans’ mouths after having a mostly positive debutante season.

Ever since then, West has quietly and cautiously tried to win Ciara’s favour back – and in turn, the adoration of the fans – and he made a good headstart on this in season nine, and as season ten currently airs as of writing, we can see a small rekindling of a flame between the two.

Now let’s talk about Amanda Batula. Amanda was featured in season one as Kyle Cooke’s number one FWB, which then grew into an actual monogamous relationship. We then witnessed them get engaged on the show, and even caught their wedding. But throughout the duration of the show, whether it was as a dating couple or a married couple, we can see that their relationship was not perfect, and they would constantly argue in almost every season of the show. But through it all, they stuck by each other.

This is where it gets interesting, especially when you consider what’s currently airing. Season ten has obviously wrapped filming, after which it was announced that Kyle and Amanda have separated and have lived apart since late 2025. But what has recently aired from Summer House is a fight between Kyle and Amanda where West quickly jumped to Amanda’s defence in a very admirable and chivalrous manner. Now keep in mind he’s also working hard for Ciara’s approval, and it’s teased that he might have deeper feelings for her as well.

Then what do you know… AMANDA AND WEST HAVE ANNOUNCED THAT THEY’RE EXPLORING A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TWO. In the most ridiculous joint statement you’ve ever seen.

There are two big things to consider at first:

1) On one of the most recent episodes that aired, Ciara spoke about the reality of being a black woman who dates white men in a public setting such as a reality show, and how she faces harsher criticisms and judgment because she’s black, while the white man tends to get away scot free, and;
2) We don’t know where the rest of the season is going. This could end with Ciara and West making a breakthrough in their relationship, possibly getting back together, and we as fans have to watch this knowing West and Amanda are currently a thing.

Now that you’ve caught up, I want to mention one thing about Amanda. Since the beginning of the show, and as her relationships with the other female castmates grew, it was clear to me that Amanda loved to stand up for women – even against her own boyfriend/fiance/husband – and that made her a girl’s girl. It was something that I absolutely admired in her.

Morally speaking, everyone is kind of in the green here. West is single as far as we know, and Amanda is separated from Kyle. Ciara has no tangible claim over West.

However, when you take everything into consideration, Ciara Miller was done fucking dirty here by both West and Amanda, and not that I am excusing a man’s actions in any way (since you all know how I feel about men), but I am mostly disappointed in Amanda because tbh this tomfoolery is to be expected from a fuckboy like West.

Granted, from a personal standpoint, I absolutely acknowledge that Amanda believes she is exploring a very real connection she feels she has with West, and as I’ve been in a similar situation before, I can understand that it’s foolish to not pursue something real if you feel it deep within you. If this connection was to manifest in a very deep and real relationship, then this would have all been for something at the end, even if it costed Ciara.

But Amanda would’ve seen that Ciara had an obvious interest in West, even if she was putting him through the work after releasing him from boy-prison and putting him out on parole, and Ciara clearly had a deep history with West that affected her core. And knowing all of that, she still pursued this elicit situationship with West who also should’ve known better, but we gave him too much credit in the first place because under that warm, himbo exterior that made me love him, is a dumbass man who has made dumbass decisions before.

Now I hear that Amanda has apparently lost sponsorship deals over this, and by no means should that be happening over a personal relationship which would have no affect on the world whatsoever if it wasn’t played out on reality TV. Like why on earth is this woman facing harsh repercussions when the literal men in charge of USA get away with… I’m not even going to get started on this.

But Amanda needs to cop to the moral ambiguity of this situationship, and most importantly she needs to take accountability for her actions with Ciara and not play it off as if she’s innocently pursuing a relationship with someone random as opposed to her supposed close friend’s ex. Because this is not giving girl’s girl, and that’s the image she’s tried to portray since being a main cast member of Summer House.

And West, honestly, just needs to grow tf up. Because I don’t see this leading to anything real if his relationship with Ciara and even Dara are to be considered, and he would’ve fucked his relationship up not only with Amanda, but with Ciara (again), and that would’ve also led to the destruction of their friendship. Just because he thought with the head in his pants.

As it pertains to Kyle, he’s said that he’s fine and he’s more concerned about Amanda because they’ve spoken since Amanda and West’s horseshit joint statement dropped and she’s apparently struggling. But I guess in a similar sense, West did his close friend Kyle dirty by shagging his estranged wife, and if subtle cues and body language suggest correctly, Kyle is fucking done with West.

Phew. I’m sure I’m missing more angles, opinions and takes on this foolishness but I feel like I’ve exhausted myself just writing this blog post.

And if you’re wondering where I stand, I’m firmly #TeamCiara. And no, she does not need to be featured on The Bachelorette because of this nonsense because Ciara does not need to be put on another show with even more fame-hungry gronks who just want to grow their social media following.

We at Widow’s Lure stand with you, Ciara Miller!

The Housewives of New York: Ranked

It’s the Big Apple’s time to shine!

When I first started my foray into Real Housewives, I was fairly adamant that I wasn’t going to watch Real Housewives of New York because the snippets I did see didn’t tickle my fancy at all. Additionally, my impressions of Ramona and LuAnn from RHUGT weren’t the greatest, so it was a city I was happy to skip.

But then I had no other cities to watch, and my love for Real Housewives proved too great, so I started the second ever franchise with little expectations, and to be honest, I actually really enjoyed it!

Thought I’d trigger a fanbase by including a picture of the new RHONY over the OG’s.

It’s important to note that these rankings will take into consideration the original group of women that made up RHONY as well as the iconic women who appeared in the reboot. So from the wonderful eccentricities of Alex McCord, to the most Brynntesting girl in the room Brynn Whitfield…

Let’s get to ranking!

23. Ramona Singer
I find Ramona to be an abhorrent human being, and I’m one of those Bravoholics that can’t excuse poor behaviour and bad human qualities because “they’re entertaining”. Sure, she was entertaining at some points and she had some iconic moments, but she was so blatantly rude and condescending to literally everyone and tried to pass it off as ‘just being honest’. Good riddance tbh.

22. Luann de Lesseps
If you were to ask me who the most overrated housewife is, I’d say Luann. Luann seems to have such a big following among the Bravoverse and I truly don’t get it. While not as rude and condescending as Ramona, Luann makes up for it in grand delusion and not in the fun kinda way either. I’m surprised she’s noticed that other people exist in this world to be completely honest, so this is why she finds herself ranked so low.

21. Cindy Barshop
The first one season wonder of this list, Cindy was just kinda there. While I did agree with her that a ‘pecking order’ among the group was ridiculous, Cindy just didn’t mesh with the group and it came across on screen very clearly. Being cropped out of the group photo really sealed the deal as well.

20. Leah McSweeney
How Leah could go from such a fantastic first season, to the most abysmal sophomore season is beyond me. Initially, I liked her young, free-spirited energy, and she was a great addition to a significantly older cast. And then the popularity got to her head, and she made young and free-spirited seem like a bad thing to the point of being unbearable. Oh well. At least I can thank her for bringing Brynn to our screens since she’s the sole reason RHONY had to be recast.

19. Sai de Silva
I personally have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to ‘influencers’ so immediately I was wary of Sai. Turns out I had every reason to be. She was just so unbearable to watch, so I can’t imagine how unbearable she is to be around. The only praise I’ll give her is that every cast needs a villain, and with some refining, she could be a good one.

18. Erin Lichy
Erin’s beautiful and she looks like she lives a fancy, interesting life, but homegirl needs some lessons on how to be a bone collector because her pot-stirring ways were so obvious and they flopped nearly every time. I’ll cut her some slack that it was her first season and they had big shoes to fill, so hopefully she finds her footing more in her second season. Also I’ve never been so sure that someone has bad breath before.

17. Ubah Hassan
Ubah had a great start for me, being a beautiful, strong and outspoken woman that radiated classy model energy, and she finished off the season fairly the same. And then she had one of the worst reunion performances I’ve ever seen, which tanked her position on this list. Here’s to hoping she makes a snappy recovery in her second season.

16. Jules Wainstein
I actually really liked Jules. I thought she was beautiful, was great with her kids, and had an interesting story to share. Of the one season wonders (Eboni excluded for obvious reasons), I thought Jules was the most deserving of a second season. I couldn’t stand Bethenny bringing Jules’s eating disorder up, and also couldn’t stand that Bethenny had an issue with Jules mentioning she was Asian because if you’re not a POC, you don’t get how race plays into simple aspects of life. I hope Jules is living her best life now.

15. Jill Zarin
For the first couple of seasons, I really liked Jill. She was fun to watch, seemed to live an elite New York kind of lifestyle, and she was kinda quirky. And then her atrocious performance in season four happened, and that really dropped her down the list. Also, Jill’s unquenchable thirst for being featured in the spotlight is both hilarious and pathetic and gets really annoying sometimes.

14. Sonja Morgan
Sonja is a really popular housewife among the Bravoverse, and while I get why others may like her, I just couldn’t get behind her. Her shtick of being an older woman living as if she was a 21-year-old horny sorority girl got old very quick, and it became extremely embarrassing to watch all of her drunk antics. I will, however, applaud her for being the only one to acknowledge and accept Eboni voicing her struggles as a black woman in season 13.

13. Aviva Drescher
Let’s be honest: Aviva is iconic. Maybe bar Bethenny, Aviva was the sharpest with her words, and she could effortlessly read a bitch as made evident with her ‘white trash’ spiel. Her backstory of how she lost her leg was also very interesting. I don’t even need to mention the leg toss because that goes down in history, and rightfully so. Iconic. Simply iconic.

12. Kelly Killoren Bensimon
I lowkey love the crazy, unhinged housewives, and Kelly was New York’s version of this archetype. I mean, it wasn’t called Scary Island for no reason. Kelly was beautiful, but almost every word she spoke made absolutely no sense, but you could tell in her mind she thought she was spitting hard facts and truths. God bless her, that wonderful action verb of a woman.

11. Eboni K. Williams
I compare Eboni to Tiffany Moon of RHOD, in that their respective casts were never really confronted with the topic of race on their shows until they showed up. Eboni was the first black woman to be featured on RHONY, and she was unapologetic about that fact, looking to educate the women on black culture as well as explain to them the harsh stereotypes she faces as a black woman. Sure, she was a bit condescending, but I also think she should be proud that she’s a strong, intelligent black woman, and if others find that intimidating, that’s on them.

10. Bethenny Frankel
Bethenny was a hard one for me to rank, considering that I really liked her on the show, but despise her outside of it. The difference between Ramona and Bethenny, however, is that Bethenny was at least likeable during her tenure on RHONY. She was that bitch of the show, most of the season’s storylines revolved around her, and she was essentially always guaranteed to get first chair at the reunion. Her anti-Bravo antics currently can get fucked, however, and I’m sick of seeing her stupid face eating in her TikToks.

9. Jenna Lyons
I had preconceived notions of Jenna Lyons, and those led me to believe I wouldn’t like her. However, the images of a stonefaced, monotone boss-like figure were dashed when this sweet, gentle woman spoke for the first time, and I almost immediately fell in love with Jenna. I do believe she’s holding back, however, and would love to see more of her authentic self next season.

8. Jessel Taank
I started off not liking Jessel, especially with the Christmas tree lingerie fiasco, but then her fun side shone through, and she showed why she was the main girl for season 14. Her ability to stand up for herself, while also talking with this almost sweet naivety made her really likeable, and I can’t wait to see more of her next season.

7. Alex McCord
Oh my sweet Alex McCord. I don’t know how I’ve coped without you for so long. At first, I was indifferent to the eccentric Alex who couldn’t bear to be away from her man for more than 30 seconds, but then I grew to love her as she became more confident in her voice, and her reads were just so iconic. (“You are in high school!” anyone?) I will never forgive Caroline Manzo and Brandi Glanville for preventing us from seeing Alex’s grand return in RHUGT.

6. Heather Thomson
I saw Heather’s grinning face floating around Housewives Twitter before I started RHONY, so with that in mind, I assumed I wouldn’t like her. But I really liked both sides of Heather’s personality: the sweet and nurturing side that would refer to her friends as ‘mama’; and the no-nonsense ratchet side that so effortlessly dragged Aviva. I also really admired her strong business acumen, and her efforts to relate to Eboni. I will never forgive Leah McSweeney for ruining a potential Heather comeback in season 13.

5. Kristen Taekman
Every Housewives city will randomly cast a young, pretty housewife to change up the dynamic, and Kristen was New York’s version of this archetype. What makes Kristen different, though, is that she was super likeable, shady when she had to be, could defend herself when she needed to, and was just like the sweet girl next door. Her comeback performance on RHUGT also just goes to show that sometimes the ‘forgotten’ Housewives are some of the best Housewives.

4. Tinsley Mortimer
I didn’t know anything about Tinsley before RHONY, so finding out that she was the It Girl of New York and also lowkey inspired Gossip Girl was super fascinating. I love the sweet, non-confrontational but can get into it when needs be (more on that later) Housewife archetype, and I found Tinsley to be a version of this. Her personal storyline of wanting to find love was just so captivating, and how could you not be on her side with this? It’s just a shame she left halfway through season 12, because that was shaping up to be her best season yet.

3. Dorinda Medley
Like Radzi says, “When Dorinda is bad, she’s so good!” I had unfairly grouped Dorinda in with Ramona and Luann so I expected not to like her, but I ended up loving the Meddler so much. You had weet and sober Dorinda, who was very motherly and nurturing, but then you get martini Slurinda, who would just verbally eviscerate anyone for no good reason. Mix that together and you have yourself a top tier Housewife. In saying that, I could see why she was ‘put on pause’ at the end of season 12.

2. Brynn Whitfield
If I could pick any Housewife to be my spirit animal, it would definitely be Brynn Whitfield. Brynn is flirty, sexy and confident, willing to use her sexuality to her advantage whenever she wants, but also has a serious side that serves as a good friend and someone you don’t want to mess with. And that is basically describing myself. Learning more about Brynn’s backstory and her family dynamics also make her one of the more fascinating Housewives across any city.

1. Carole Radziwill
As mentioned before, I love the sweet non-confrontational but still don’t mess with me Housewife archetype, and that describes Princess Carole. An underrated Housewife IMO, Carole could hang in there with the heavy hitters like Bethenny and come out relatively unscathed, but she could also stay out of the drama while providing humourous commentary. Her personal backstory as a widow was also very interesting to watch. If I’m going to be honest, Carole won me over when one of the first things she says on RHONY is “I don’t hate children. I just can’t stand when mothers get together and that’s all they talk about”. Iconic.

Can you believe it? Over four years, I have finally finished all of Bravo‘s Real Housewives cities! (Excluding RHODC, but that has one season so it doesn’t really count.) I won’t know what to do with my spare time anymore! Someone send help!

The Housewives of Salt Lake City: Ranked

May the Housewives gods be with me while I rank these unhinged women.

I only just realised that I haven’t ranked the Salt Lake City wives because I’ve been watching live since the beginning and didn’t do a full binge of the franchise like I have the other cities. While we are currently in the middle of a raging season four, I thought ‘why not rank them now?’

As it is, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is the tenth installation of Bravo’s ever popular Real Housewives franchise, and is widely considered to be the most chaotic. Sometimes it looks like these women get along and have great friendships, and the next thing you know, they’re attacking each other like savages.

As of writing, there have only been nine full-time housewives featured on RHOSLC. It is still in its early years, of course, so it’s to be expected.

Strap in for a short but wild ride as I rank these unhinged Utah wives!

9. Jennie Nguyen
This should come as no shocker to any fans of the franchise, but what disappoints me the most is I had such high hopes for Jennie at the beginning of the season. I always love seeing diversity, and seeing the franchise’s first Asian housewife in season 2 was very refreshing, but then her disgusting views were outed, and she plummeted to the very bottom of this list.

8. Heather Gay
Bravo seemed to have pegged Heather as the poster girl for RHOSLC at the very beginning, and I cannot understand why. She’s phony as all hell, two-faced to the people she claims to be her friend, allows herself to be a doormat for bully Jen, and is stuck in the high school days of yearning to be accepted by the popular girls. Plus, her self-deprecating humour is just overcompensating for the fact that she is extremely unlikeable. I really don’t have anything nice to say about her tbh.

7. Jen Shah
Jen is the first Pacific Islander representation in all of the Housewives franchises which was really nice for me to see. And that’s where my compliments for this woman end. She is a literal convicted criminal, and during her time on the show, was nothing more than a malicious, jealous and manipulative shell of a woman who used erratic outbursts for attention. I never want to see this woman on a Bravo show ever again.

6. Meredith Marks
Meredith started out somewhat likeable, and her penchant for disengaging quickly became iconic. But this woman is out of her mind and deluded, and I can’t stand the way that she looks down at the floor when she’s trying to read someone or stir shit. At least look them in the eye if you’re going to drag them, hun.

5. Mary Cosby
Double standards in a housewife have never existed as hard as they do for Mary Cosby. Mary is eccentric, comes with a wild backstory, and has very funny one-liners, but because the other wives (excluding Whitney) are scared of how unpredictable she can be, she gets away with being rude, insufferable, and refusing to participate in activities with the other wives.

4. Monica Garcia
Monica serves as a breath of fresh air for the currently airing season 4 of RHOSLC. Beautiful, sassy, unashamed of her past, and not scared to fight against her richer counterparts, Monica has already proven to be a great addition to the show. I wish she’d just ease up on the fighting with Lisa though.

3. Angie Katsanevas
After a very successful debut as a FOH in season three, this Greek beauty snatched her snowflake for season four and has already shown to be a great housewife. Messy, shady, serving personal drama, and appearing to be ready to read a bitch at any given time, Angie quickly shoots to (almost) the top of my list.

2. Whitney Rose
Whitney is easily one of the most stunning housewives across all the franchises, but what I love about her most is that she is as beautiful as she is messy. Never scared to stir the pot, or carry some bones, Whitney has proven to be a necessary cog in the wheel that is RHOSLC. We stan a sex positive queer ally Queen!

1. Lisa Barlow
I had picked Lisa to be my favourite during the first season of the show because she reminded me of my friend Charmaine, but then Lisa began showing more of her personality, and she’s basically the perfect housewife. She’s rich, not scared of getting into it, a bit of a pot stirrer, slightly deluded and unaware, and full of hilarious one liners and quips that are immediately iconic, Lisa Barlow takes the top spot for the Utah housewives.

Season four is already receiving rave reviews, and may be the Salt Lake wives’ best season since its inception. If you aren’t already watching this franchise, dare I suggest that you start watching it now. If only for Team Litney.

Happy watching, baby gorgeouses!

The Housewives of Orange County: Ranked

The franchise that started it all.

If you’ve stayed up to date with my Housewives rankings so far, thank you. I also appreciate that you don’t judge me for watching the cities in such a random order.

I’ve finished my watch through of all of the episodes of Real Housewives of Orange County, and am currently watching season 17 as it happens live. And I’m shocked that a city I thought I wouldn’t really like turned out to be one of my most favourite Housewives franchises.

IMG_4679

As of writing, including season 17, RHOC has had a whopping 26 housewives, which isn’t surprising when you consider how long the show has been running, and how many one season wonders they’ve had (some of these one season wonders deserved longer runs, but more on that later.)

Anywho, here are my rankings for the RHOC wives!

26. Kelly Dodd
Probably the most vile human to be featured on any Real Housewives show ever. If her antics on screen weren’t bad enough, her behaviour off screen was 100x worse. I don’t even feel comfortable typing her name out in full without asterisking it. Good riddance and stay away.

25. Vicki Gunvalson
I don’t get the hype around Vicki at all. She was constantly lying, shirking responsibility or accountability, rarely apologised for all of her wrongdoings, and let’s not forget her part in Cancergate (and how she just got away with it by screaming). Sure, she had some iconic moments, but that doesn’t make up for being a horrible person. Extremely overrated and doesn’t deserve the praise that she gets from Housewives fans IMHO.

24. Braunwyn Windham-Burke
A woman that literally sacrificed her husband and her seven kids for fame, Braunwyn had the potential to become a great housewife but fumbled it so hard in her second season. I’m glad she’s living her true queer life, but to put your family through that and essentially disown them is gross.

23. Gina Kirschenheiter
A lot of people can’t stand Gina, but I initially wasn’t one of them. Sure, she’s annoying and overproduces herself for made-up storylines, but there is a down-to-earth likeable quality about her. Until season 17 came along, and now I genuinely cannot stand her. How one person can make someone else’s infidelity from years ago about them is beyond me.

22. Quinn Fry
Our first one season wonder on the list, Quinn is easily the most forgettable. She was introduced halfway through her season, which was a short season to begin with, and I can only remember her for being a cougar.

21. Kimberly Bryant
I thought Kimberly had potential to be a great housewife. She was blonde, had big titties, and had a likeable quality about her. Her run on the show only lasted the first season, which prevents her from going any higher on this list.

20. Peggy Sulahian
Peggy is probably the most odd choice of casting of this franchise, although I feel as if Peggy was only brought onto RHOC to try and recreate the scandal of Cancergate. She had the rich and extravagant lifestyle of a housewife, but didn’t fit in with the rest of her cast, which is probably why she only lasted one season.

19. Elizabeth Lyn Vargas
The fever dream that was Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. If she had popped up at any other time, she would’ve left a better impression, but since her season was marred with Covid and lockdown, her time on the show was very come-and-go. Her personal storyline of escaping a cult was very gripping, however.

18. Jen Armstrong
Jen was the more likeable version of RHOBH’s Teddi Mellencamp: pretty and blonde, but dull, monotone, and overall boring as a housewife. Her crumbling marriage led to some interesting storyline, but her impact on the show was considerably less than her other season 16 newbie, Noella.

17. Lynne Curtin
Lynne was lowkey iconic as a housewife. She was beautiful, deluded to the point of living way beyond her means, and her personal storyline of being evicted from her house was drama af. Her children were the bane of my existence, however. I wouldn’t mind seeing Lynne guest appearances in future.

16. Peggy Tanous
Another housewife that, had they been given more time on the show, would’ve had a much larger impression. Peggy was stunning, blonde (two features of a stereotypical RHOC housewife), and was not scared to go toe-to-toe with her friend Alexis.

15. Jeana Keough
If certain reports were to be believed, we have Jeana Keough to thank for Real Housewives, as she was apparently the first woman cast to be on RHOC. Initially serving in a supporting role, Jeana actually worked better for her cheque as a FOH. Who can forget the iconic fight she had with Tamra in season six?

14. Tammy Knickerbocker
Probably someone no one expected to be this high on the list, I actually really liked Tammy. I thought she was stunning and served gripping personal storyline and would’ve loved to have seen her get a couple of more seasons on the show. Her children were also the bane of my existence, however.

13. Noella Bergener
Noella had everything I was bound to like in a housewife, especially as the first black housewife of RHOC. She served drama, personal storyline, got involved in group discussions, and was absolutely beautiful. There is, however, something called overdoing it, and Noella just came too hard in her first and only season of the show. By midway, she was just too exhausting to watch.

12. Lauri Peterson
Lauri was stunning, serving straight MILF for her time on the show. She was always transparent about the things happening in her life, especially the bad parts, which is a quality I look for in a housewife. Unfortunately, her personal struggles took her off the show, but when she rejoined as a FOH, she was out for blood, and we loved to see it.

11. Jo De La Rosa
Jo was automatically my favourite from the beginning of the show as being the young beautiful POC of the otherwise older white group. I think it’s fairly safe to say that the show was going to be centered around her, especially if her centre orange status in season 2 had something to say about it, but she soon left before season 3. If there’s any RHOC housewife I want to make a full time return, honestly it’s Jo.

10. Lydia McLaughlin
Another wildcard on my list, I actually really loved Lydia. She was a gentle soul that served her role as peacemaker of the group really well. In saying that, she was not scared to go up against another housewife, as shown during her tenure in season 12 (the iconic menu toss, anyone?)

9. Jennifer Pedranti
I’m sure if I had written this after season 17 finished, Jennifer would be higher on the list. This beautiful blonde is open about her personal life, including the fact that she was emotionally unfaithful to her husband, and homegirl did not skip a beat in gathering Crybaby Gina and telling her to trot off. After a lull in the past couple of seasons, Jennifer is an amazing new addition whose debut performance suggests she’ll kill it in future seasons.

8. Emily Simpson
Emily has always been unfairly paired with Gina because they started the show in the same season and grew to become besties, but Emily shouldn’t be compared with Gina in terms of what she brings. Emily is naturally funny, absolutely beautiful, is not scared to either get amongst it or serve as peacemaker, and has an interesting life compared to her casita counterpart. Additionally, Emily thrives when she’s not being weighed down by Gina, so we need to see more of her.

7. Gretchen Rossi
Even though Tamra is credited for creating the blueprint of a housewife today, she wouldn’t have been able to do it without Gretchen Rossi, especially as Tamra vs. Gretchen is considered to be the first Housewives feud ever. Gretchen was brought on as the stereotypical young blonde gold digger, and when she moved onto Slade and had less of a financial backing, Gretchen stayed clocked in and came to work, especially at the expense of Tamra.

6. Lizzie Rovsek
The one season wonder that definitely deserved a way longer run on the show, Lizzie was really thrown in the deep end in season 9. Shannon instantly bonded with Tamra and Vicki, and the rest of the cast were already established, so Lizzie really had no one on her side. But Lizzie came to work, serving personal storyline and growth, and she inevitably played probably the most pivotal role of the Tamra takedown that took place in season 9. A beautiful brunette queen who deserved more.

5. Alexis Bellino
Ms. Sinful Body herself, Alexis was such a great example of the ‘traditional’ housewife: loyal and faithful to her husband; loves God and her Christianity; and was absolutely stunning with her trademark blonde hair and big boobs. Alexis was not afraid to work for her cheque, and she was not afraid to go up against the longer standing wives like Vicki and Tamra. And she’s only grown to be more likeable since leaving the show.

4. Shannon Storms Beador
There is no word to describe Shannon. She really is her own type of housewife. Quirky in her own type of way, Shannon came in and completely changed the dynamic on RHOC. She was not scared to be vulnerable and show her life, especially so quickly in her first season, and she definitely does not back down from anyone. Shannon stays an important part of RHOC and its success.

3. Meghan King Edmonds
Meghan was a young housewife brought into a group of already established older women, which seems to work against most. But Meghan came in like a house on fire, sharing her personal woes of being a step mother and wanting her own biological children, and of course, uncovering Cancergate like the modern day detective that she is. Things settled down in her later seasons, but no bigger splash was made in a housewife’s first season of RHOC than Meghan.

2. Tamra Judge
The blueprint of the Real Housewives, Tamra essentially created what we know and love today by uttering six words: “Did you go to Bass Lake?” Tamra shifted the entire dynamic of Real Housewives by turning it on its head and transforming it from a documentary about rich women into the fierce, dramatic reality show it is today. Stunning, dramatic, over-the-top, passionate, and full of energy, we should all thank Tamra Judge for our Bravo obsession.

1. Heather Dubrow
My number one Real Housewife across all of the franchises, Heather completely changed the dynamic of RHOC with her touch of class, elegance, and extremely lifestyle porn way of living. Don’t underestimate Fancypants though: she will go up against anyone, stand strong in her truth, and is not afraid to get her hands dirty if needed. The iconic petty goddess we all deserve as Housewives fans, Heather Dubrow is definitely the It Girl of RHOC.

I am really loving season 17 as it unfolds, and it definitely seems to be a return to form of the glory days prior to Kelly Dodd ruining the show with her filth.

Anywho, to all of my readers – peace, love, and champs!
